Depends on what video you watch. I have seen him play it live in E fingering but his guitar is tuned down a whole step making it D - sounds really nice and deep that way. I put up a video on the fingering - it's a bit non-traditional - under my pen name TheDeadlyBulb.
I think Phil tunes down a whole step quite a bit for concerts.
