To Ror: I would say there is a bit of theory behind this....I'm relatively sure this is a D blues and the rule for any blues that there are two blues scales you can use (you can sort of use three but the third possible scale tends to sound shitty unless you are epic) The obvious one being D and the 6th note of the key that you are in....So for the key of D you could use the D blues scale and the B blues scale....C blues=C blues scale and A blues scale....a lot the more interesting blues artists use these seemlessly....hope this helps :) Oh and that third blues scale is the b5 if memory serves me correctly
