By definition, a fable tells a quirky story that has profound meaning. In Ginsberg's setting, the singers deliver the text with rhythms that evoke seriousness. Meanwhile, the piano adopts quasi-tango rhythms saying this piece can't be serious! The result is great fun, and the message--a little lesson for life.
