SKU: GI.G-5940

Concertato on MORNING STAR. Composed by James P. Harding. Arranged by Larry Visser. Christmastide, Epiphany. Concertato Series. Tune Name: Morning Star. Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. GIA Publications #5940. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-5940).

English. Text by Reginald Heber.

The Epiphany text as set to the hymn tune morning star is found in many denominational hymnals. Larry Visser provides a concordant arrangement for choir and congregation with all of the goodies church musicians relish: verse alternating men and women, a 4-part choir verse with Visser’s own harmonization, organ interlude, and prodigious final verse with soaring descant.

A fine concertato setting of this 5-stanza Epiphany hymn.
