Text found in "Catholic World", 1874, volume 19, issue 111, page 332, preceded there as in the score of this work by a quote attributed to Friedrich Schiller:
"Mortal cannot make conditions with the Creator".
(Hrm. This does not seem like Schiller - is it?)
