Well, here we have a Capriccio just as meticulously well-planned as any children's outing, and possibly as much FUN. Here is the musical itinerary. Intervals, mirrored in both key color and contrary motion, are presented, with time signatures and number of measures to match. Nine measures of 9ths, in 9. 8 time, eight measures of octaves in 8. 8, etc. When we get to the 3rds, there doesn't seem like enough time for any real fun, so we multiply the number of measures required by that same number, 3 X 3, and get 9, similarly for the seconds, 2 X 2 4. When the 1. 2 steps arrive, we have ONE measure, up, and one measure down, smack in the middle of the structure. After that, a summary of the musical events so far. Then, its through the whole structure again but BACKWARDS this time, with the intervals getting larger, while the time signatures and number of measures shrink in the reverse order as they began.
